• mu-- Optional parameter, representing the mean of the data set. If not provided, the function will calculate the mean of the data set internally.

Return Value

The function calculates and returns the sample standard deviation as a result based on the given data set.

The following example demonstrates the usage of the pstdev() function:

Output result:

1.5811388300841898

In the above example, the given data set is [1, 2, 3, 4, 5], and the sample standard deviation calculated using the pstdev() method is 1.5811388300841898.

The sample standard deviation is a statistic that measures the dispersion of a data set, indicating the degree to which data values deviate from the mean. It is the square root of the variance and is used to describe the spread of the data.
