All major browsers support the value attribute. However, the file format defined in <object> is not supported by all browsers.

Definition and Usage

The value attribute specifies the value of the <param> element.

This attribute is usually used together with the name attribute to specify the<object>parameters of the plugin specified by the tag.

The value of the value attribute can be any value supported by the specified object.

Differences between HTML 4.01 and HTML5
