Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari 6 support the max attribute of the <meter> tag.


Definition and Usage

The max attribute specifies the upper limit of a measurement.

The value of the max attribute must be greater than the value of the min attribute.

If the max attribute is not specified, the default value is 1.

Tip:The max attribute, together with the min attribute, specifies the full range of a measurement.

The <meter> tag is a new tag in HTML5.

Attribute Values

Value Description
number Specifies a floating-point number that represents the maximum value of a measurement. The default value is "1".
