Java min() Method

Java Number Class

The min() method is used to return the minimum value of two parameters.

Syntax

This method has the following syntax formats:

double min(double arg1, double arg2)
float min(float arg1, float arg2)
int min(int arg1, int arg2)
long min(long arg1, long arg2)

Parameters

This method accepts two primitive data types as parameters.

Return Value

Returns the minimum value of the two parameters.

Example

public class Test{
    public static void main(String args[]){
        System.out.println(Math.min(12.123, 12.456));      
        System.out.println(Math.min(23.12, 23.0));  
    }
}

Compile the above program, the output result is:

12.123
23.0
