PDOStatement::nextRowset — Advances to the next rowset in a multi-rowset statement handle (PHP 5 >= 5.1.0, PECL pdo >= 0.2.0)

Description

Syntax

bool PDOStatement::nextRowset ( void )

Some database servers support stored procedures that return more than one rowset (also known as result sets).

PDOStatement::nextRowset() enables you to access the second and subsequent rowsets associated with a PDOStatement object. Each of these rowsets can have a different set of columns.

Return Values

Returns TRUE on success, or FALSE on failure.

Examples

Fetch multiple rowsets returned by a stored procedure

The following example demonstrates how to call a stored procedure, MULTIPLE_ROWSETS, that returns three rowsets. Use a do/while loop to repeatedly call the PDOStatement::nextRowset() method, which returns false and terminates the loop when no more rowsets are returned.
