Linux reboot Command
The Linux reboot command is used to restart the computer.
If the system's runlevel is 0 or 6, it restarts the computer; otherwise, the shutdown command (with the -r parameter) is used instead.
Syntax
reboot [-n] [-w] [-d] [-f] [-i]
Parameters:
- -n: Does not write memory data back to the hard disk before rebooting.
- -w: Does not actually reboot, only writes the record to the /var/log/wtmp file.
- -d: Does not write the record to the /var/log/wtmp file (-n includes -d).
- -f: Forces a reboot without calling the shutdown command.
- -i: Stops all network-related devices before rebooting.
