ECMA - European Computer Manufacturers Association

ECMA was founded in Brussels in 1960 by some of Europe's largest computer and technology companies. By May 1961, they formed a formal organization whose goal was to evaluate, develop, and recognize telecommunications and computer standards.

It was decided to base ECMA's headquarters in Geneva because it could bring it closer to other standards organizations with which it cooperates, such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

ECMA is the abbreviation of "European Computer Manufacturers Association", known in Chinese as the European Computer Manufacturers Federation. It is an organization founded in 1961 to establish unified computer operation format standards, including programming languages and input/output.
