SOAP Envelope Element

The required SOAP Envelope element is the root element of a SOAP message. It defines the XML document as a SOAP message.

xmlns:soap Namespace

SOAP messages must have an Envelope element associated with the namespace "http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-envelope".

If a different namespace is used, an application will generate an error and discard the message.

encodingStyle Attribute

SOAP's encodingStyle attribute is used to define the data types used in the document. This attribute can appear on any SOAP element, and it will apply to the content of the element and to all child elements of the element.

SOAP messages have no default encoding.

soap:encodingStyle="URI"
